Role Playing Questions:
What is RP?
RP is the abbreviation for Role Playing. Role Playing is what I refer to as collaborative writing where you, the player, has control over one character. With others, you have your character interact with other characters, developing your character in a certain direction with each encounter.
What is Godmoding and Metagaming? What are the differences?
Godmoding is when you automatically assume that your character is more powerful than another and autohit others. Auto-hitting is when you state that the hit lands and the after effects of the hit landing or saying you hit someone. All attacks must be attempts, and performing multiple attacks such as Jutsu is considered godmoding.
Metagaming on the other hand is used more in the context of your character having knowledge of something they shouldn't, or never attained. This also applies out of battle, and for other things.
What should I do if I have a problem with someone godmoding or metagaming?
Report it to me or another staff member if you believe someone is moding, we will investigate and deal with the situation.
How are we supposed to receive missions?
Easy, you run it by me and I'll allow it or deny it, if you want to RP receiving the mission, then I will personally NPC Tsunade or the Hokage (this is for future references, Tsunade may die before the Manga ends), or whatever Village leader you belong to.
In addition, villages now have mission lists in case you don't feel you can create your own.
Board Questions:
Why are there so many Boards and Categories?
To accurately portray the Naruto world. Where other Forums only give you the Ninja Villages, they don't give a selection of civilian villages and countries which are almost as important. Most missions are carried out outside of Ninja villages and inside of Villages though conflicts may happen between (in the wilderness). I feel that this is the best way to portray this world with minimal boards as possible.
Why no canon characters?
One, canon characters are minorities on forums, and are rarely seen as is. Two, this eliminates running the risk of having someone portray a canon wrong or badly. Three, without someone controlling them, we can follow the Manga and have story advancement that is out of our control which gives for a great RP experience. My aim for this Forum is to give the most accurate and enjoyable portrayal of the series Naruto. After being on a number of other RPs, after a while, it didn't feel as if I were RPing Naruto anymore.
What about Wars? Will there be any?
Relatively, compared to what we've seen in Gaiden, these are times of peace, so there won't be any wars as of yet. Though, the Akatsuki did speak on how "wars" are now carried out in small skirmishes and battles between Villages. So, say an Oto-nin and a Konoha-nin were to encounter each other, they would most likely fight. Nations being enemies are the closest thing to war that we'll get until the Manga has another Great Shinobi War (which I believe is coming soon since Akatsuki has a crapload of Bijuu, and plan on creating war to make profit).
Character Making Questions:
Why can't I find my profile?
Check one of our subcategories. If it was accepted, it will be in the Profiles sub-board. If it's unfinished, or you have been asked to make changes by the staff and you take too long to change it, it is in the Unfinished Characters sub-board.
Why are so many admin making so many comments on my profile, even after I fix it?
This is just our way of helping you fine tune your profile for an optimal RP experience. We're not here to bash your character, but to make it better and add depth to it. We want our RPers to have the best characters on the interweb. :3
Is it okay if I reformat my profile?
Sure. But just remember, the staff is looking mainly for the information from the main profile template. If you put too much in there or use too many details, distracting fonts, bright colors, or more than one picture that takes up the whole page, we are less likely approve it quickly. This is because we would have to make sure everything in in there, even if the profile is not easy on the eyes. A clean, simple profile is HIGHLY encouraged.
Why are profiles left unlocked?
The foreword tells it all. However, in short, we leave profiles open to allow the members creative freedom. Locking profiles not only makes work for the staff, but stifles your time and really just slows everything down. We trust our members enough to allow them to edit the details of their profile within reason.
