History//Legend of the Clan[/u]:[/size]
バ変緊
Humanity, such a delicate idea. It is balanced atop a hair pin, simply waiting for one to toy with it. Perhaps blow on it slightly, causing all things to crash and burn. Others, like take pieces of it, and make it their own. This can be taken as figuratively, or literally...or both. In short, some people simply find enjoyment in trying to create the most frightful abominations the world has ever seen, and one of these people still walks among the living, though people would hardly agree that he deserves such a title...
Darkness. Fear. Two things that have been compared over the centuries. Darkness has created fear for all human beings in some way or another. However, darkness is simply a misunderstanding. It is the absence of light, nothing more. It simply lacks in some areas, and prospers in others, as does the light. The darkness is...unpredictable. You never know what will come out of it next. It could be something completely beautiful...or something very...very horrible.
[Day 1: Koumori Strain]
"The experiment has begun. The test subjects are within their chambers, and visual as well as audio recordings will show they maturity as time goes on. If this little endeavor succeeds, it will open so many doors! I can't even think of the amount of possibilities will open after the...eventual success of this project. I hope that this new breed of the Koumori will be even better than their predecessors, the gimpy winged clan of Kumogakure no Sato. I can only hope that with my luck, the first batch of test subjects is a success, because I will be forced to take a more drastic approach to the experiment...not that I'm not willing to make sacrifices in the name of knowledge..."
[Day 365: Koumori Strain]
"It has been a year since the beginning of the project...and the subjects have finally begun to mature. How lovely. However, they still retain their previous qualities, save for an overall loss of pigment in their skin, especially from the hair. The experiment as of now looks to be a failure...however, I will endure through this slight set back. Perhaps I have started from an entirely wrong direction. You know what they say...If at first you don't succeed...try, try again."
[Day 1: Koumori Kasei Strain]
"...I have just disposed of the last of the old batch of test subjects...disgusting, yet beautiful creatures they are. It's a shame they had to go like that...but no matter, the beginning of the next experiment is about to begin. Ah, I have a very good feeling about this...A very good feeling indeed. They are so cute when they're young, the little fetuses. It almost looks like a tiny pile of ramen noodles from the cameras. Ha, well, I will have to see what happens at the end of the next nine months. If no change has occurred, I am afraid that this sort of thing will just not be possible through means of supplements. Oh well, I do have other things to preoccupy my time with..."
[Day 273: Koumori Kasei Strain]
"There's something in the air...ah! I believe that is a familiar smell, a smell of success! The test subjects will have now ended the maturing and birthing process by normal means of conception...and they are simply beautiful. As in the first batch of the Koumori strain, pigment throughout the body has been lost, and actually all pigment was lost in the hair. Even looking at that, it seems that their bone structure is denser than that of the norm, and their muscles seem larger as well. Hints of success: Extra bone growth in the areas of the back, arms, and legs. Slightly elongated facial features, not greatly noticeable compared to the norm. I can't believe I could have been so careless the last time, starting with something so not complex and trying to make it into one of the perhaps most complex creatures to date. No matter...tests on the most healthy of subjects will continue through the next year. I will document the results of the first year at that time. Until then, I will keep all subjects nourished and healthy...I will not lose them. Security around here shall be upgraded as well, we can't let any unexpected visitors popping in here..."
[Day 638: Koumori Kasei Strain]
"It seems that there were some overlooked side effects to the experiment...how could I have been so foolish. There are only fifteen remaining subjects from the original fifty. It seems that all subjects have a natural sight disorder...they are all blind. However, certain tests have shown that the remaining fifteen survivors have found a way to sense things around them. They can walk from place to place without fail, and can pinpoint the location of objects. I wish I could simply look through their eyes and know what was going on...well, then I would be blind and unable to control their unusual sense of sight, so let us not go that route. Unless...unless more of the DNA has changed than originally intended. Could they have formed a sense of sight that uses sound waves? Yes! That's it! When I tap the cage, the subject looks in my direction. That is the only explanation...fascinating. Genjutsu would have no effect on these creatures! Since they see the vibrations of sound waves off the objects around them...this...this is truly amazing! These creatures are sure to be a complete success, I better start another strain of DNA with the survivor's blood, and create an even more perfected branch of the Koumori Kasei. Ah, my pets, you'll do wonderfully as my servants one day..."
[Day 1003: Koumori Kasei Strain]
"The experiment...was a complete success. I have decided to let the creatures loose into the world so that all can see of their power grow. There are now fifty healthy subjects, and over time, their deformities have become less and less visible. I have learned that the specimens can actually change from a perfectly normal human being to their true form at will. How ingenious, the perfect hidden weapon. However, these creatures will be faster, stronger, and more insightful than other humans of their age and battle skill. Just think if one of these pretty little creatures became a shinobi...what a cunning and perfect weapon. I will keep one for myself, take it on as one of my many apprentices. The others, however, shall have to fend for themselves. I see great things in the future for these creatures...so beautiful. And to think people are disgusted by me. They say I try to play "God"! I say...that I succeed entirely. Humanity is ripe for the picking. I simply show those willing to see the world for what it truly is in the right direction..."
Kekkei Genkai//Bloodline of the Clan[/u]:[/size]
:: Koumori Kasei Strain: Guardians of the Night ::
The Koumori Kasei are hardly what you would call a family. They are a genetically altered group of human beings, being slightly more faster, stronger, and more intelligent than other humans of their time. However, their physically mutation does not stop at heightened muscle mass and brain size. The lineage of the Koumori Kasei are a family that have had DNA spliced into their own, making them much like the guardians of the night...more simply known as Bats. Yes, the Koumori Kasei have wings like bats, claws like bats, and bat like agility. One special thing about the clan is their ability to hide their true selves. Through advanced biological transformations, they are able to retract their wings back into their body, as well as their claws, ears, everything. It has the potential to be one the most useful secret weapons out on the battle field, but with these strengths, there are drawbacks.
All of the Koumori Kasei are blind. They have, however, the unique ability to hear, or pick up the sound waves as they bounce off of objects, and wrap around them, much like the sonar used by bats. This is particularly helpful due to the fact that almost all genjutsu will have no effect on the Koumori Kasei. However, some genjutsu that skews the sense of hearing will throw the Koumori Kasei off, and the effects on the ear become more intense if the Koumori Kasei are in their bat form. The Koumori Kasei strain also have a slight weakness towards fire, as well as light based attacks. Due to the loss of pigment in their skin, their protection from the raw UV rays of the sun can cause slight skin damage, but nothing to uncommon than in other pale skinned humans.
The use of the Koumori Kasei's unique form has three stages, all according to the rank of the Koumori Kasei member. Below is a brief description on all of the forms, their strengths, and drawbacks...
Rank One: Partial Transformation
Rank 2: Complete Transformation
Rank 3: Complete Control
:: Yuukuton: The Art of Fear ::
As the Guardians of the Night, it seems only acceptable that the creator of this strain of DNA gave them slightly more perks than just that of their bat-like qualities. He also gave them ability of Shadow manipulation. There are many uses to the shadow technique such as manipulations of the shadow, and illusions created by the shadow. Shadow techniques like the Nara clan that are able to manipulate the shadow into a physical weapon, bending it to their will to slice down opponents, or to gain control over an opponent, cannot be done. Their main focus of the shadow art, however, is to strike fear into the hearts of the courageous. Most people regard the darkness as a source of evil and fear, and that subconscious thought allows for the success of their particular brand of "Fear Jutsu". These techniques are nothing more than slightly more powerful genjutsu that utilize the darkness in their illusions. The genjutsu performed by the Koumori Kasei are particularly difficult to break, but like most genjutsu, the simple Kai: Release techniques will easily dispel the illusion around the target, so long as the target can figure out that the technique is a genjutsu, which can be relatively difficult, meaning that an outside force will have to distract the Koumori Kasei, or that the target must be of greater skill than the Koumori Kasei, or have a certain affinity for Genjutsu themselves. The Yuukuton (Fear Jutsu) becomes even more effective if the Koumori Kasei is in their bat-like form.
Clan Information[/u]:[/size]
- Clan Training :: Since barely any of the Koumori Kasei are in contact with each other, it has been extremely difficult for the strain to come up with some sort of training regiment for all of the Koumori Kasei to work by. Most of the Koumori Kasei have found techniques on their own. Until they can be reunited once again, no clan training will exist.
- Population :: E (20 - 50 Members)
- Nature//Values :: None. They simply desire to fend for themselves since they were cast into the world with no hopes or direction. Many have had hopes to start a new life. In having this dreadful curse, they fear to start a life for they might pass on the lineage of the Koumori Kasei to their offspring. Others see this as a wonderful idea, and wish to breed more of these abominations of nature, and eventually come together and bring all the straggling Koumori Kasei together so they can finally be happy.
