"Don't you think this is a little...much?"
The words would come from none other than the blonde haired shinobi known as Sei, or as he was called in the Underground, the "Tiger's Claw." Jumping back he revealed himself to be fully equiped for battle, his wakizashi and neko-te in place. Skidding to a stop his blue eyes narrowed onto his charging opponent before kicking off to the left.
A loud crack could be heard as the concrete floor seemed to cave in from the impact of the other man's attack. Dust and rubble were all that could be seen of the area that had just been attacked, and Sei remained several feet away. There would be a small silence in the are for just a moment before Raigyo darted out of the dust cloud. There was something different about the Underground champion, however. His skin, while normally darker than most, had taken on a dark red tint to it, and the look on his face was almost savage.
"I understand that you're upset that you weren't picked," Sei would say in his normally casual tone as Raigyo pounced towards him -- ready to smash his face in. Rolling out of the way Sei quickly sprang to his feet and attempted to put even more distance between him and his old friend. "But, honestly, you need to find a new way to vent. Repairing these training halls isn't cheap," he added on as Raigyo descended upon him once more. Not having much time to react Sei turned his torso around, bringing his blade along with him and ready to slash the crimson brute across the chest.
"I've already told you--!" Raigyo barked as he channeled Doton natured chakra to his hands, activating his Iron Fist technique. With his left hand he would catch a hold of the incoming blade, causing only a small trickle of blood to flow slowly from his hand down the cold steel. A dark grin slid across his face as he balled his right hand into a fist, and then smashed it against Sei's head. "I don't care that I wasn't picked for that mission. I'm annoyed by how that rookie is getting special treatment while doing zero work," he explained as he watched Sei's body slide across the floor.
"Well, Bossu did pick him personally...," Gan would chime in from his vantage point in the corner of the room. "Maybe it was this particular reason that he recruited him..."
"Regardless. I'm getting tired of having to play lapdog to that bastard," Raigyo would say as he glanced back at Gan. A chuckle could be heard from the other side of the room, causing Raigyo to look back in Sei's direction. Though the moment he turned around he saw something shine from the bottom of his eye. His eyes widened when he realized what it was, and quickly shifted his body back to just barely avoid the blade of Sei's wakizashi from slicing through his juggular. "Tch," Raigyo spat as the tip of the blade was pressed against his neck.
"If you're so tired of being a lapdog...," Sei said as he pulled the blade away from Raigyo's neck, and stood up straight. He looked him dead in the eyes with a serious expression on his face. "Then what do you plan to do about it?" Gan blinked a few times when he heard the question. Was he really hearing what he thought he was hearing?
"Uh...guys. Can we change the--" he tried to interject but was cut off by Raigyo's laugh.
"It's simple," Raigyo spoke as a cocky grin spread across his face. The anger that had been boiling up inside of him before seemed to have all but vanished. Replaced by a new and deadlier passion.
"I'm just going to--"

"--to do what, Raigyo?"
A syrupy sweet voice would call to him from the training room door. Gan quickly turned in fear to see Anabachi seemingly looming over them from the doorway. "A--Ana-chan..." he stuttered. Anabachi ignored Gan, and continued forward toward Raigyo, each click of her stiletto heels bringing her closer and closer. The smell of sweat and sinister thoughts filled her nostrils as she stood next to Sei, who's eyes were still fixed calmly on Raigyo.
"You plan on eliminating Bossu? Killing him? And eliminating everyone in your way?" An amused smile played upon her lips as she crossed her arms in what seemed like an entertained thoughtfulness.
"I don't know if I can let you do that, Rai-chan."
Hours earlier...
"But Bossu-sama I--"
"It's not up for discussion, Ana. I said you are staying here. Bado is going."
Pleading her case did nothing, it seemed, as Ana sat fuming in Bossu-sama's office. The dark cover of evening darkened the room, all but for a single light over his desk, a faux fireplace crackling in the wall, and a couple of floor lamps in the corner. How he ever came to afford such a complex for an underground fighting organization, she'd never know.
But...she'd find out.
Ana's icy blue gaze, a gaze that would penetrate the strongest metaphorical wall of any man, seemed only to bounce off of Bossu's teflon exterior as he turned his back to her and kept his gaze focused out of his large window that overlooked Kiri's densly populated metropolitan skyline. He seemed to be in deep thought as she sipped his wine.
"I do not understand, Bossu...and you won't tell me why you chose him over us. Are we not strong enough for you?" Ana pushed her hair from her face, then stood from her seat in a huff, as if she were threatening to walk out. Bossu glanced over his shoulder at the unappaernt object of his affection. "My reasons are my own. Besides..." The wine sloshed gently in the glass between his fingers. "...there is much to be handled in Mizu no Kuni before we can make any more moves.

Anger.
Frustration.
Annoyance.
One of those three emotions seemed to surge through every nerve in Raigyo's body when he heard Anabachi's voice. Perhaps even a combination of the three. In a slit second's time the cocky expression that the silver haired brawler had shifted. His teeth gritted, his brow furrowed, and it seemed that a vein had pulsed on his forehead. Keeping his attention away from her Raigyo attempted to return his expression to the way it was, and try to play off being unphased by her abrupt appearance.
The clicking of her heels against the tiled flooring did not serve to help him in his efforts. Closing his eyes Raigyo as she continued to approach he continue to suppress his welling anger. Hearing her finally come to a stop he would open his eyes and look directly into her own. A slight huff slipped from him as she mapped out one of the options that Raigyo had thought about. An amused smirk would however cross his lips at her last words.
"Is that so, Ana-chan?" he said in an almost confused voice, going so far as to raise an eyebrow and tilt his head slightly. "And here I was thinking that you'd be more than estatic for me to do just that. After all...," Raigyo continued as his voice began to take a more serious tone. "Isn't having Bossu out of the way what you've always wanted?"

"Oh please," she scoffed, almost chuckling. "You really think taking my precious Bossu out of the picture is what I really want? You don't know me very well, do you Raigyo? You see, I do what I have to do--" she walked up to him and traced a finger up his chest to his chin. "--to get what I want."
Just then, she pulled a piece of paper folded in half from her back pocket, and pressed it against Raigyo's chest.
"Besides. We have work to do."
"Now that Bado is gone to handle phase one of the expansion, there is yet a second part I need you to handle for me..."
Anabachi walked slowly over to Bossu, coming up from behind and sliding her arms around him as he looked out the large window at the city lights. "Of course. Whatever I need to do."
"I need you to deliver strict orders to Raigyo and Gan."
"Orders?"
"They're going to retrieve a very important weapon for me."
Anabachi pulled away, then stepped around Bossu to see his face. "A weapon?"
"Yes. Here." He then pulled a sealed letter from his inner jacket pocket and handed it to her. "And in the meantime, I need you and Sei to run interference with Demon-chan."
"Think she's try and stop this weapon?"
Bossu pulled Anabachi to him, placing a finger under her chin and lifting it to him. "The weapon belongs to her."

"Heh," was all he would say in response to her initial retort. As her finger moved to his chest he watched her move her hand upward before returning his gaze to her eyes. He smiled a little after hearing her claim she did what she had to do in order to achieve what she wanted. "Guess that includes being Bossu's little concubine too, I suppose?" Raigyo commented idly causing Sei to let out a sigh. While he was a member of the council Sei never really got into the dramatics that seemed to come with those in power. He was there to do his job and nothing more.
Raigyo's eyes narrowed on Anabachi as she pressed the slip of paper against his chest. Placing a hand on it he unfolded it and glanced down to see what was on the page. A dark grin slipped across his face as he crumpled up the paper and tossed it aside. "Let's go, Gan," he said as he started to walk out of the training room.
"Wh-what? Wait up--!" Gan said as he quickly jumped down off of a crate and tried to catch up with Raigyo. "What are we doing? Raigyo...wait!"
"Children...," Sei would say to himself as he watched the both of them make their exit. Taking this time to finally sheathe his sword he would turn to face Anabachi. "I take it that the two of us will be working together. If so, would you mind joining me for dinner? There are some things I've been meaning to ask you."

Anabachi sighed, then looked at her wrist. "Fine. I suppose we have time before this mission is set into motion."

Later on...
Anabachi sat in the teahouse, sipping her white tea and ginger, and dangling a blue pump off her perfectly manicured toe.
"So. What is it?"

Leaning back in the booth that the two had picked out Sei looked down at the steam rising from his green tea. His single visible eye remained focused on the drink before Anabachi spoke. Closing his eyes for a moment he would soon enough reopen them, putting his full attention on the girl before him.
"I'm a little curious...," he said as he reached for his tea and brought it to his mouth. Taking a small sip he set the tea back on the table and leaned forward some. "What exactly does Bossu hope to gain from this?"

Anabachi tossed her hair. She was well aware that she knew more than the others because of her position (no pun intended), but there were even things that she did not understand.
But she was going to find out.
"From what I know," she began, setting he warm cup back on the table. She hesitated for a moment, but she knew if she could trust anyone, it was Sei. He was probably the only other loyal, logical member of the board. "The Senkyo kid. He's...like us."
Just then, she reached into her bag and pulled out a folder and tossed it onto the table. "He's the only perfected version of the Sandaime's experiments. Kind of makes me jealous..."
It was obvious. The similar features, blond hair, blue eyes, incredible chakra control and abilities...
"...but that doesn't account for Gan and Shikome. Experiments gone wrong?" She said with a certain cockiness.

So it seemed that Raigyo was on to something when he attempted to kidnap the little runt. Though it would seem that he didn't know just how big of a gold mine the kid really was. As Sei listened to her speak he reached forward and grabbed hold of the folder. Opening it up his visible eye moved from side-to-side as he scanned over the information. Flipping from page to page Sei looked up at Anabachi when she mentioned Gan and Shikome. There was a look of slight annoyance in his eyes, but it quickly dissipated.
"So Bossu just wants to expand his collection," Sei said casually as he closed the folder and placed it back on the table. Letting out an amused huff Sei looked down at the folder one more time. Reaching for his tea he took another sip of it before looking up at Anabachi. "I find it hard to believe that Bossu simply handed that folder to you...," he said as he trailed off for a moment.
"How'd you get it?"

"I have my ways..." she said, pursing her lips to the side. "He trusts me with his office AND he's a man. I can pretty much get what I want, but he's not stupid. There one particular scroll I found," She stopped and opened her clutch and pulled out a scrap sheet of paper with something scribbled.
"This is where I need your expertise." Anabachi slid the paper over to him and sat back to take another sip. "There was a scroll written in code or something. I've seen him use this before when he was communicating with one of his offshore "proteges". From what I could decipher, I could make out the word "Shiromon"."
She placed the cup down and leaned over to make sure her words were not heard by anyone else. "I'm going to let Bossu go through with his little plan, but once we get the weapon, all bets are off. I'm going to find out about this Shiromon business, but what I need you to do is keep Raigyo calm. If that means letting him think he's taking over, sure. Just don't let him lose his cool yet..."

"Hm," Sei would huff lightly at Anabachi's little comment about men. He found it to be amusing, but even he couldn't lie. The woman had a way of getting what she wanted. Raising a curious brow Sei watched as she extracted yet another slip of paper from her purse and slid it across the table.
Picking up the sheet he glanced it over from back to front. Folding the document in fours he slipped it into his shirt pocket, and reached for his tea once more. Taking another sip as he listened to her as she spoke. "Shiromon, huh?" he said as he tried to think of anything that might relate to the name.
As Anabachi continued to speak Sei would simply listen. After hearing that he would have to continue playing Raigyo's pacifier he let out a deep sigh. Unlike normal people Raigyo couldn't simply be calmed down or comforted with words. No, no, no -- he was a fighter, an arrogant one at that. The only way for him to become remotely calm after his temper was lost was for him to fight. In Sei's case, this meant that he had to take a dive more than a couple of times. Finishing off the last of his tea Sei placed his cup down on the table.
"I'll do what I can about Raigyo, and you'll also be informed if I find anything out about Shiromon. Now, my question for you is--" he paused for a moment to allow himself to get more comfortable. "What are we going to do about Shiko-chan?"

"Demon-chan is really the last thing on my mind right now. She can't take all of us. I mean, we just have to make sure she stays away from her Shinobigatana boyfriend." Anabachi raised her hand a little, and a few seconds later, the server came and brought the two their checks.
"I'll handle the Shinobigatana, you handle Shikome, and Raigyo and Gan should be able to handle the kid."
She tossed her money on the table, then stood behind her chair. It would have been apparent to Sei that something else was turning in that noggin of her's.
"Do a little surveillance tonight so we'll know where Shikome, Izumida and Hanz's positions are in relation to each other. Hopefully Raigyo won't let Gan screw this up." And with that she walked away and out of the teahouse, long blond locks swaying conceitedly behind her.
[ End ]
