Onoda Tsuneo
"Oooiii~!! I'm hoooome~!" Tsuneo slipped off his shoes and stepped inside, shutting the door behind him. He folded his hands together and slipped them behind his head as he turned the corner. "Anyone here?" He peered through hallway, and then spun on his heels to check the other way.
"Hmph... looks like ma and pa aren't back from their shopping spree. Hope they don't notice the mess I left in the market..." He snickered to himself, placing one hand on the side of the table, and vaulting over it into a chair. His feet gracefully landed on the table, and crossed with one over the other. It was disturbingly quiet, and it wasn't like ma or pa to leave the house unattended, with all the new generation Onoda running around these days. Something could get stolen, don't'ya'know?
He flipped a hand through his silvery white hair, sliding off the chair and standing on the ground with his hands. He did a handstand as he walked around the kitchen, stepping out the back door. "KYYYYAAAAHHHH~!!!!" A flying foot shot out from the left, and smacked Tsuneo directly in the side, sending him flying across the back porch and spinning over the smooth wood.
"Tsuneo my boy~! What's wrong with you? You need to be ever diligent~!" The old Onoda shouted like he was shouting out to the heavens. He tapped his cane against the hard wood, and shot a glance at Tsuneo, who was lay face down against the wooden porch, steam flowing from his red face.
"Tccchhhh... oowwww... jeez grandpa... why do you have to sneak up on me like that..." He slowly rose to his knees, rubbing his sore face as he looked over his shoulder at his rather spry grandfather. "Eh? What's got you gleemin' today?" Now that he thought of it, his grandfather looked positively illuminated. His bald head seemed to shine with the glare of the sun. Oh, and his spirits seemed pretty high too.
"Oh he he he~" The old man practically did a jig, hoping in circles with one foot. "Don't think that I don't know what you've been up to, m'boy." His wrinkled smile curled from his lips, and he flashed a gleam from his rather white teeth. It was odd for the old coot for be acting in such a way, but hey, at least it was better than spending an evening with his ma or pa. Those two had no idea what fun meant.
"What I've been up t--" His eyes widened, and he gawked at his grandfather. Either word travels fast, or that old coot had been tailing him again. "Yo-- You knew?" He didn't know whither to feel ashamed, or proud. His grandfather was always the last to be told about news, and it always sent him into a grand fuss, consisting of much swearing and stomping.
"Of course m'boy! I saw the whole thing! Don't think I haven't been keepin' an eye on you~" The man hopped again, smacking his cane against the side of the house. "Congratulations, Tsuneo m'boy! I'm so glad to hear you've finally become a genin!"
Que the generic anime pose. Tsuneo held his head low, a massive sweatdrop arose as he looked up. "Gran'pa'... I've been a genin for a year now..." His horrible knack for forgetting always seemed to find the perfect moment to show up.
"Eeeeyyy? Whoozaawhatzit?" His face screamed with wrinkles, confusion, shock, and torment. A whole year! A whole five hundred and forty two days! Oh, how could he have been so off?! The shame of it all was almost unbearable! He'd make up for it somehow! But how?! "I've got eet!" Answering his own questions, the wrinkly coot reached into his sleeve, and pulled out a dusty scroll. Litterly. It was covered with dust.
"Gran'pa'! That's..." Tsuneo's eyes widened more than earlier, and his gawking increased ten fold. To think, that he was beholding the very scroll that held the Onoda's every secret, right in front of him! Right there, in the hands of his crazy grandfather, who had been a part of the Onoda council for over... hell, who knows how long.
"Yes yes! That it is, m'boy! Everything you know... is locked up in this scroll. Everything you've been taught, has been taught from this 'ere ancient text." The man knew how to tell a story, and he knew how to ensnare people with intrigue even better. Which, both came hand in hand if you think about it, but still. There it was. In all it's dirty glory. In the dirty hands of his dirty grandfather. Diiiiiirt.
"But... that's... for... really?!" He was practically drooling on the inside over all the savory techniques might be held in there. The secrets to the clan, and even the so called hidden power of the Chouzetsugan. The truth behind Souton chakra, and the broken down instructions to creating even the most deadly of chemicals. So much knowledge... so much power... with that, he would become the greatest Onoda to date!
"Yes yes! Do you know how lucky you are for even being able to look at this scroll, m'boy?" He pushed the dumbfounded genin away with his cane, toppling him over by giving him a swift tap to the head. "Very. That's the answer. So lucky, that I could get removed from the council. Do you know why I'm showing you this?" There was a hint of wisdom behind his insanity. Grandpa had two sides, and this side, was definitely the serious, poker master side.
"Your... gonna..." Tsuneo thought for a minute. His head was full of so many possibilities, that he couldn't pick one, so, he jumbled them all together, shoved them in a blender, and let it rip, finishing off with a crazy smoothie of ideas. "Your gonna teach me the secrets of the Chouzetsugan! No no! Your gonna teach me the secrets of the whole clan! Oh wait! Your gonna trust me with the scroll! Right? Right?!" He was hopping up and down like an overjoyed schoolgirl.
"Wrong. I'm just teasing you with it." He lifted his arm, and dropped the scroll back into his wide sleeve. Tsuneo's face was covered with dismay, and he looked like he was about to break down in tears. "I'm just foolin' ya', m'boy! I'm here to teach ya' some stuffs, so you can be cool like your dear ol' gran'pappy." He smiled as Tsuneo's hopes were revived, and that schoolgirl squeel escaped him. He didn't care. He was gonna become the greatest!
"When do we start? When do we start?!" He was overjoyed beyond belief, and he was gazing at his grandfather with puppy dog eyes. His grandfather returned the gaze, with the full onslaught of the Hanbusshitsu Chouzetsugan.
"Now."
END.
OOC NOTES:
I thought about doing more, but this is a nice spot to leave this off. Gives me flexibility on what to teach Tsuneo. Plus, I didn't feel like writing more cause of the immense fail I smelt from this topic. :]
