Flying high in the skies over Sunagakure a falcon soared. Its majestic wings spread out wide as it glided with the wind. From the view she could see the countless inhabitants of the village going about their daily lives. The market was filled with civilians buying food for their dinners, the shinobi on patrol were all stationed on the tops of various buildings, and the children were all running through the streets. As the falcon continued her flight she descended onto the training fields she witnessed several of the village's shinobi strengthening their techniques. Some practiced in the styles of Taijutsu while others in the arts of Ninjutsu.
Circling around a tree the falcon let out a screech as she descended towards a red haired man leaning against a pole. The man extended his arm as the falcon flapped her wings to slow her descent and perched herself onto his wrist. The man gave the falcon an approving nod as he untied a small note from her leg. Now freed of the burden the falcon let out another small screech before taking off into the sky once more.
Shaking his head the red haired man unraveled the small scroll, and looked it over. "Konasu Russki, Onoda Tsuneo, and Shinjiro Ken...," the man read off the names on the list before pocketing the paper. Those three names belong to each member of the Sunagakure genin squad lead by Tsuya. If everything had gone as planned then those very genin would be heading towards this spot this very minute.

" Morning....Gah.... "
-_-....
To believe it was morning already and the day he was supposed to meet his sensei and his teammates. He was supposed to be excited and happy but every since that grueling defeat at the hands of Tsuneo he had been pissed at the world. How could he lose against an asshole like that? His mind was set on training harder and creating more advanced Fūton jutsu. Now, although, he was just going to see who was on his team and pretend to be happy. Their was no way possible that he could focus on that when all he wanted was to beat the living hell out of his advisary, Tsuneo. But he had to make his way to their meeting or else he'd be late.
He strapped his Tanto onto his waist and cleaned his face with a rag then made his way outside of his house. It wouldn't be long until he'd be at the meeting spot, he'd been in the vicinity of that specific area before. " Ten minutes until I'm late...pfft...whatever. " He said to himself as he took a path cutting through a line of buildings which surrounded his house. It was quite a busy day in Suna and people were bumping into him left and right. He just kept to himself as not to get into any fights with a random civilian. Even if he was a Genin he could've obliterated them in a battle with the meager skills he possessed. Besides-- Tsuneo was his primary target and the only one he wanted to fight. If he even saw him he'd challenge him to a battle and make sure that he didn't lose. He was getting closer to his destination and he guessed that all the thinking that he was doing was making the time fly by faster.
Five minutes later, early...
He made his way to the Meeting area to view quite a tall individual standing their as if he was waiting for somebody. He walked up closer to the man and gave a slight bow before clearing up his throat and saying,
" I'm Shinjiro Ken. I'm guessing you're my sensei? "

"Damn it... how did... how can... how?!" The old man spat, laying against the wooden floor with a foot planted on his chest. Good ol' grandpa was finally beat. His cane was far out of reach, and his crooked nose was bent back straight. Tsuneo had finally bested one of the best in the Onoda complex.
"I told you, gramps..." Tsuneo took a moment to draw in all of the dramatic silence. If this was going to be one of his many more victories to come, he'd have to make it freaking awesome. "I'm going to be the greatest." Que the teeth sparkle, and, the yelling."
"TSUNEO!! GET UP GET UP GET UUUUUUPPPPP!!!"
There he was. The rumored Onoda prodigy, sprawled across his bed with one arm wrapped around his pillow in a headlock, and his legs flinging over one side of the bed, and the other wrapped around a mass of blankets. Drool trickled down his mouth, and his fingers, along with his toes, twitched as he dreamed.
It wasn't like Grandpa to wake Tsuneo up unless there was something important. His mother and father lived in a different house, as all Onoda children lived in their own apartments in the Onoda complex. His grandfather came over every now and then, without being invited, and made Tsuneo do who knows what every morning.
Tsuneo, however, was dead asleep. He was up all night the previous night studying the letter his Grandfather had given in years ago. It was encrypted, and many of the codes had to do with the human body. It's been four years since he got that scroll, and he still hasn't decoded the whole thing. Knowing grandpa, it'd probably turn out to be a coupon of a buy one get one free ramen sale, which he'd make Tsuneo pay for, and give him the free food.
"TTTTTSSSSSSSUUUUUUUNNNNNEEEEEEEOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" If that didn't get his attention nothing would.
Tsuneo leapt out of bed, fell face first on the floor, scrambled to his dresser, pulled on some pants, slipped a shirt on, and ran down the stairs with his red jacket in his arm. He nearly tripped on the last step, causing him to tumble right into his grandfather, who slapped him upside the face, sending him spiraling backwards into a wall.
"Yee--oooowwwww..." Tsuneo rubbed his cheek as his face slowly slipped down the wall. His grandfather held a promising piece of paper in his hand. How was it promising? Well, his grandfather was still grinning.
"You've got a summons, m'boy." The old coot's eyes began to gleam, as proud tears trickled down his cheeks. The day had finally come. "After all this time... a whole month of waiting! Who do they think they are?!" Once again, Que the generic anime pose.
Tsuneo hung his head, two major sweat drops, and a rather angry bulge on his forehead, showed up as he looked up at the crazy coot, who was glaring at the ceiling as if he was trying to look through it, hoping to find the culprits for such a heinous crime. "It's been a year, grandpa, a little over a year, to be exact."
"HOOZAWHATZIT?!" Here we go again...
Tsuneo ran through the streets, already late for the meeting of his first squad. Sidestep, twirl, duck, slide, phase, Tsuneo put everything he learned from the Onoda complex to good use. If you consider dodging massive crowds good use. When your in a rush, it's pretty good. Though it'd be smarter to use the rooftops.
With a mighty leap, Tsuneo jumped over at least seven different people, before smacking into a sign with his gut. What a wonderful day to be fashionably late.
Wheezing and stopping to catch his breathe, Tsuneo drug his feet towards the two. He couldn't reconize Ken from his distance, and he had never seen the taller man before in his life. Resting a hand on his knee to stop himself from keeling over, Tsuneo held up a hand. Never before had he been so rushed to get somewhere, and never before had he been so tired and out of energy. When in doubt, blame grandpa.
"H...Hai..." Tsuneo stood up straight and leaned back, exhaling once more before inhaling. Breathing seemed like a whole new thing for him today. "I'm Tsuneo... Onoda Tsuneo." He slapped his hand over his knee again. Slamming into that sign, and smacking into that wall, and those group of thugs, along helping a few academy students with their aim, getting a kite out of a tree, saving a kitten, and tripping off a rooftop onto the ground below really did a number on him. Why was he so full of himself?

Russki had a bad feeling. It wasn't often that she had a bad feeling. But today, there was no pep in her step. No dust clouds rose through the marketplace as vendors and parents with children mulled about. Everything was in its place, and Russki's feet were among the shuffling as she wove through the bodies, hands in her pockets and head down. Another squad... she thought to herself, scuffing steel-soled sandals across the sandy ground. This would mark number three for her. Or was it four? She should have just gone ahead and taken the promotion when it was offered to her...none of this would have even been an issue. Hopefully, Tsuya would be able to clear this whole thing up.
She was nearing the rendezvous location now, stitched eye blinking lightly as she cast her gaze up to the high-noon sun. She didn't recognize any of the names on this paper, which meant one thing...they had to be new. Just what she needed...a fresh start. And that was sarcasm. Fresh starts were the balls.
Finally arriving, she spotted two boys in the distance. Her pace slowed as she dissected them upon approach, amethyst eyes critical. They quickly changed pace, though, as eyes began to shift and flash about. Where was Tsuya? She saw the two boys. And then the red-haired man. She stopped a distance away, taking another look around. Maybe Tsuya was hiding and it was their job to find her. Skipping the introductions, she strolled up to the man in charge, for a moment peering around him as if her sensei were hiding behind him. "...Where's Tsuya-sensei?" she asked simply.

A pair of hazel eyes continued to scan the entrance for the Sunagakure training grounds. Shifting to each person that managed to get into his field of vision he analyzed them all. Nah, that can't be a Genin..., he thought to himself as he watched a muscle-bound guy head towards his direction. Could it? the red haired monk thought. It wouldn't have been the first time that he saw an adult Genin. Some people just didn't have what it took to advance. Thought they usually quit after a while. The man would finally veer off into another training ground causing the redhead to let out a relieved sigh. He really wasn't trying to train a failure.
As he looked up a brown haired kid was standing infront of him, bowing no less. When the kid introduced himself all Kon could do was blink. "Uh...," he managed to get out before another silver haired kid came charging towards them. "Heh...," Kon muttered as he looked at both of them. What the hell did I get myself into? he thought to himself as tilted his head slightly. It seemed like everyone was here save for this Russki girl.
"Well...," he began as he closed his eyes before taking a pause. Just what the hell was he supposed to do? He had been placed incharge of teams before, but this was different. These were rookies. Newbies. Accidents just waiting to happen.
"...Where's Tsuya-sensei?" His eyes opened slightly to spot a golden haired girl standing in front of him, and looking around him as if there were some kind of hidden surprise. So this was her previous student..., Kon thought as he cleared his throught and took a step back. "Tsuya-san has been assigned on an important mission. Until she returns I will be taking over the leadership position of this squad," Kon informed the three children before him. "My name is Tobunagi Kon, but you can simply call me Sensei if you wish," he continued as he looked each of them over. "Before we start anything I feel that we should have a small introduction. I'll start it off. As I said, my name is Tobunagi Kon. I specialize in fūton-based ninjutsu and fūinjutsu. My favorite color is red and kitsune udon is my favorite food."
When he finished his own little introduction he gave the three a small smile and looked at each of them.
"So who wants to go next?"

Ken was analyzing his new-found sensei as the other Genin began to arrive. He was tall and kinda muscled-up, but that didn't usually determine how strong a Shinobi was. As the other Genin began to arrive what they said didn't complete register into his head yet just laid dormant until he was done daydreaming off into La-La land. He clearly heard sensei stated he was a Fūton specialist which made him quite happy. He almost forgot about Tsuneo and the grueling defeat he suffered as his thoughts became overcome with images of his Sensei helping him become a Fūton specialist too and create more jutsu than before. He emmidiately took a step backwards and cleared his throat once more then began to speak.
" I'm Shinjiro Ken. I was on a team before this one yet I failed the last Chūnin Exams I was in. I specialize in Fūton Jutsu and Taijutsu and if I may say I--- "
And it clicked into his mind in almost a complete anime fashion what one of his teammates said.
"H...Hai..." Tsuneo stood up straight and leaned back, exhaling once more before inhaling. Breathing seemed like a whole new thing for him today. "I'm Tsuneo... Onoda Tsuneo."
His head turned around slowly and his arm raised with his finger pointed towards Tsuneo. This was the boy who defeated him in battle! This was the one who humiliated him with what a horrible toxin! He had vowed that he'd defeat him in combat whenever he had saw him and since his defeat he'd been training his ass off for that moment. That moment-- WAS NOW!
" YOU!!!! "
He reached for his Tanto and slung it out of its Sheath, pointing the blade at his advisary. He didn't care about his other teammate or his sensei, as far as he cared they could go to hell at this moment. Even though it was quite brash and a hot-headed move, he didn't care. This was about honor.
" We do battle NOW!!! "

Tsuneo took that time to catch his breath. He looked over his shoulder towards Russki, who had seemed to show up out of thin air. At least, that's how to seemed to him, as he was panting heavily. He looked like such a wimp right now. Here was this huge thirteen year old kid, with muscles all over his body, panting up a storm. All those midnight snacks really had gotten to him.
His panting haltered as he took the time to note the people around him. He only got a glimpse at the side of Ken's head, as he looked over at Russki. Now there was a sight. She had the most amazing eyes he had ever seen, and a stitched up scar trailing down her left eye. If his mother hadn't pierced him with wise words of manners and whatnot, just before he was going to be late, he would have started to feel the stitches, and totally invade her personal space.
After Ton had finished his introduction, and Ken had begun his, he finally recognized that tone of voice. Oh you've got to be shitting me... Tsuneo slowly turned to face Ken, and nearly felt his soul shatter as he witnessed his other teammate. This was going to be just perfect. What made it even more perfect was the fact that Ken had litterly flipped out like some insane man, drew his weapon, and pointed it right at Tsuneo. Due to their height difference, it was aimed toward one of his vitals.
"Ugh..." He raised a finger, placed it on the tip of the tanto, lowered it slightly, and shot Ken an irritated glance. "How 'bout no. Maybe some other time." Tsuneo then looked over at his sensei, and then at Russki. "Yeah, so, I'm Tsuneo Onoda. I'm uhh, kindova' prodigy within the Onoda complex, not like that really matters. Uhhmm... I like the color red, but also blue, and I'm a huge fan of dango." He shrugged, feeling like that was all that needed to be said. Ken pretty much knew enough about him, and the others would learn as time went by. His real interest was in Russki, and even their Sensei, who seemed to be downplayed from all the commotion that was going on.

I won't be replying. Just go on with the thread as if Russki had never showed up and feel free to find a new third member.

A vein twitched on the red haired monk's forehead as he watched Ken. Gritting his teeth the relatively optimistic mood he had been in when he first started out the day was gradually slipping away. This kid was going to cause him more trouble than this whole "sensei" thing was worth. The smile that he had offered the two boys faded as Ken unsheathed his blade, and pointed it at Tsuneo.
Taking a few steps forward he monitored Tsuneo's reaction to his seemingly crazed teammate. A brief feeling of relief came to him when he casually declined, not even showing the slightest bit of interest. As he went on to further introduce himself Kon slowly unsheathed his own tantō, and placed it against Ken's neck. A serious expression was on his face as he let the cold steel rest, ready to slit his throat at a moment's notice.
"If I ever catch your raising your blade against your comrade like that again...," Kon's tone carried a deathly seriousness to it, and his eyes rested intently on Ken. "Then I will personally deal to you the punishment of all traitors of this village," he said coldly to the child. Pulling the tantō back and sliding it back into its home he walked inbetween the two of them. "I can understand if you two are rivals. In fact, I encourage it. What I will not tolerate are immature outbursts such as that," he went on to explain. "If you are going to challenge anyone in this village then you will do so in a civil manner. You are shinobi of Sunagakure no Sato. So start acting like it," Kon said as he looked over his shoulder back at Ken. "Is that clear?"

" NO BATTLE?! !!~~~ "
" YOU SHALL BE DESTROYED BY MY SHINOBI-PROWESS! YOU WON ON A FLUKE AND I SHALL NOT TAKE THAT AGAIN!!!!-- "
And out of that rage a Tanto would be placed upon Ken's neck. He gulped and kept looking forwards, sheathing his Tanto as to took aside as to move away from blade pointed upon his neck. He would've did battle with Tsuneo at that very moment if it wasn't for the fact that his Sensei would've killed him. He let out a deep sigh as he glared at his Rival as if letting him know that their feud was not over. He was infuriated-- actually, He knew that this was an OUTRAGE!
" Yes Sensei...I'm sorry for my outburst. "
He simply stated. Yet this wasn't over, not by a long shot it was.
REVENGE SHALL BE MINE!!!!

His pale blue eyes shifted from the tip of his finger which rested on Ken's tantō, to his sensei, who pulled out a tantō of his own and placed it up to the kid's throat. Now how was that going to be fair? Everyone in his team except him had a tantō. Then again, there was something he had that neither of them had, but that was, once again, a story for another day.
"Don't mind him, Kon-sensei." He pulled his arm back to his neck, resting his hand carefully against his shoulder and gave a gentle rub on his muscle. "He's just a little frustrated from the time that I beat him, that's all." He made it sound like it wasn't even important to him, and, well, it wasn't to be honest. He could die happy if the world all got along, but he wouldn't twitch his lip if everyone died fighting either. He had the most bland and neutral opinion when it came down to certain things. The bill for food, however, was not something he was neutral about. He'd stay as far away as that as possible.
"So, is it just us three? Aren't teams normally gathered in fours?" He looked over his shoulder to check if anyone else was coming. No luck from his perspective. He had hopped that there would have been at least one girl on the team, but dreams will be dreams. Dreams or not, there was no way he was going to die happy if he had to be stuck with a kid that was trying to kill him at every opportunity. How was he going to sleep at night? Underground?

Kon's eyes narrowed on the boy for a moment after he apologized and resheathed his tantō. When it came to making first impressions Ken wasn't doing the best of jobs. Though there was potentially still time to better Kon's opinion of him. That is if he were to play his cards right from now on. Taking a few more steps forward he sighed deeply as he let the annoyance leave his body. Turning around to face the two boys he focused on Tsuneo and let out an amused huff.
"So you noticed, huh?" he said as he scratched the back of his neck and tilted his head slightly. "Yes, there are typically four people assigned to genin cells, but your third teammate has unfortnately decided to withdraw from the team for personal reasons. It's something that can't be helped. However there is another member to this team," Kon said as he extended out his right arm. In that moment the hawk that had perched itself in the tree flapped her mighty wings and shot out towards the sky. Circling over Kon once she let out a low screech before descending down and perching on his clothed wrist. "This here is my animal familar, Tomoe. I've been working with her for years now, and she has yet to let me down."

Who does that bastard Tsuneo think he is. He cheated-- He knows he did! He couldn't fight like a man so he had to use those dirty tricks....I'll show him something...soon!!!
He was steadily calming down on the outside, yet on the inside he was still flowing with anger directed towards Tsuneo. As Tsuneo and his sensei began conversing with eachother he brung up an interesting fact about their team. They were missing a student from what he thought, but Kon explained to them that their team was full. He then stated that they did have a fourth member, which ironically turned out to be Kon's pet, a Bird. Ken began to look up in awe at the bird and watched it majestically soar down towards Kon's wrist.
" That's a nice bird sensei...-- But I have a QUESTION! "
He spoke, yelling at the end to catch the attention of the both of them. A small smirk appeared upon his face as he began to speak once more. " When do we get to spar with eachother? " This was about the only thing that interested him besides training and revenge upon his archrival, Tsuneo of course.Hopefully the answer would be along the lines of ' Now. ' or ' Soon. ' because honestly all he wanted to do was beat the living hell out of his teammate. My my, Ken was acting like a very deceitful person!

Well, great. Tsuneo shuffled his shoulders and slouched as Kon explained the team situation. It was just going to be the three of them, which, all in all, wasn't all that bad. A smaller team meant easier strategies, and less worrying about other teammates. Tsuneo worked pretty well on his own, but his grandfather insisted on teaching him some techniques to assist others, and when it came down to it, Tsuneo was a team player on the inside. Deep, deep on the inside.
It wasn't until Kon announced a fourth member of the team that Tsuneo's expression brightened up. His eyes shifted up towards the sky as his sensei stuck out his right arm, and the sound of flapping wings shook through his ears. Then, he saw it, the mighty hawk familiar. "Beautiful..." Tsuneo always liked birds. A lot more than he liked dogs, and way more than he liked cats. Birds always seemed like the essence and symbol of freedom, soaring the skies with their long wings.
"Tomoe, eh? When'd you two--" He was cut short by the sound of Ken, who he kinda forgot was still standing there. His sudden raise of voice was the thing that caught his attention. If he kept talking normally, he would have never heard him, or would have payed heed to him at all. "Spar...? Oh! Oh! That reminds me!" Spar brought back two memories. The first being the fight he had with Ken, which was immediately replaced with the thought of a test. Every new genin squad had an opening test, and well, this was their first meeting, so it seemed only fit to have some sort of team training test. "What kind of test are we going to do, Kon-sensei? Are we gonna do the bell test, or the paper test? What about the dune test? Will it have something to do with Tomoe?"
His pale blue eyes lighted up with a long dead spark deep in his soul, now brought back to life. He felt intrigued, and well, content, which were two things he had never really felt in a long time.

Kon's brow twitched slightly after Ken's second outbursts. Did this kid have a one track mind or something? Was fighting his teammate the only thing that he could think about? He would look at him for a moment, but before he could offer him some sort of answer Tsuneo would speak. Glancing over at Tsuneo his mouth remained slightly open before curling into an amused smirk. He hadn't thought about any kind of testing for the genin. His plan was to simply to have a meet-n-greet, but apparently that wouldn't satisfy these two.
He then turned his attention to Tomoe, who gave him a questioning look. A look of pure horror came across the hawks face as she quickly shook her head. "Oh no. Nonononono," she said rapidly in disagreement -- already knowing what was in her partner's mind.
"It's for the sake of the team...," he said offering his most charming smile. The hawk would simply stare at him for a moment before narrowing his eyes into a glare. Muttering something under his breath she reluctantly agreed. "Wonderful," Kon said as he turned his attention back to the two genin. "Your first test is to get one of Tomoe's feathers. I don't really care how you do it. So long as weapons are not used," he explained as he lifted his arm into the air causing Tomoe to take flight towards her former tree perch. "First to get a feather gets a free lunch."
