COMMITMENT CLAUSE February 28th, 2009 I'd like to start out by thanking all of those who have stuck with us for all the time they have, the people who've endured having people come and go, lure them into RP then leave them stranded with characters and endured all of the changes that have come. Your reward is to come, for with your faith and commitment to us here at Rasenden will come the RP and community you seek.
Rasenden's biggest flaw hasn't been it's systems, infighting or abusive staff members, it has been and always been level of commitment when it comes to members. Like I've constantly explained to people off of the board, due to Rasenden's striving to portray Naruto correctly, interaction and position of characters are vital. One character is always dependent on another, as it should be, but when one of those RPers flops and stops posting, that causes a number of others to come into a snag. For example, three Genin and a Jōnin on a team, the Jōnin suddenly stops posting and decides to go inactive, now there's three Genin who eventually go inactive due to lack of a team and IC activities.
Precautions have been taken to eliminate these problems such as the replacement rule that was added a few weeks back, and just earlier today, another rule was added about lack of posting and holding up threads--the skipping rule, please check the Rules for that and how it can be used to advantage to you if you're in a thread that's not moving.
Some people or a vast majority come and go because the place isn't active enough for their taste or the numbers are too low, and I'm going to address that with this; you are equal to one, and I am equal to one, the both of us here is equal to two. Depending on how many people read this, that is equal to a vast number, if we're all here, if we're all committed, then we have the numbers.
This message I'm trying to get across to you, this commitment clause, is merely a rallying call. Not for you to just come here and take a quick look around, or for you to come here and make a character and not take any sort of role or just lurk for a week or so then disappear, this message is for you to step into Rasenden and help us help you make this place a haven for those who seek a good roleplay with moving plots instead of every other place driven on kills and stats.
What this means is that when it comes to Rasenden, you need to put in as much heart and work as the Staff does because this place is as much yours as it is ours. How do you put in? You put in by being here, you put in by having a presence, by RPing, by suggesting something, by being in it. It doesn't take much, but even when it seems like there's a slump in activity, that'swhen everyone should try their hardest, for that's when morale is at it's lowest.
Stay faithful, be committed, put your work in and it'll work out. This is my promise.
