Kirigakure no Nioumon
Deva Gates of the Hidden Mist
Outer Wall
Surrounding the village of Kirigakure is the great wall that stands at approximately fifty feet tall, and all around it are two entryways that are stationed evenly throughout the wall. Of the two entryways, only one of them remains open all day, this gate being the Western gate. Because of this, this is the most extravagant of the two gates. It stands at roughly sixty feet tall, bearing a large chakra enhanced wood and steel gate that remains partially opened to allow passage to in and out the village. The Eastern Gate is similar to the Western Gate, only it remains closed unless there is a need to open it.
Inner Wall
While the outer wall protects the village from initial threats the inner wall does the same for enemies that have breached Kirigakure's defenses. It is nowhere near as impressive as the outer wall, but it serves its purpose. Like the outer wall there are only two entrances -- East and West. At the west entrance there is a secondary checkpoint where the I.D. cards are varified once again for authenticity. Here the search is less strict, and is typically manned by Ch&3363;nin level shinobi.
ANBU Guards
Stationed at each gate are barracks for the ANBU, as well in various other parts of the wall. As a way to keep the ANBU organized, each ANBU is given a specific period of time in which they must serve to protect the wall. Once their time comes they must serve their time, living there, for however long they are required. If they leave the gate without permission then it is considered to be AWOL, and will be punished severely for it - usually receiving several lashings. However, there are twelve ANBU that are held above all the rest, who's sole duty is to protect the gate. These ANBU are called the Jūniou, or the "Twelve Devas." They are the strongest of the ANBU, and because of that they wear a specialized mask that allows them to stand out from the rest of the ANBU - though still keeping their respective zodiac style.
Wall Defense
To help aide in the village's defense there are several hidden senbon launchers installed into the wall. These senbon launchers are more heavily placed near the gates, and can fire a multitude of senbon at one time. This is mainly to help diminish the amount of enemy troops that may possibly attack the village. If the senbon fail to stop the enemy and they make it past the gate, there is a two mile stretch that separates the village from the gate. This is so the village has ample time to prepare themselves for the invasion, and evacuate the civilians. During the two mile stretch to the village, there are various traps that the invaders must face such as spiked pitfalls, explosive tags, etc.
Checkpoint
When allowing Kiri villagers into the gate entrance, the ANBU will ask for the I.D. of the individual, as well as their registration number. To avoid any fake I.D.'s being used to imitate Kirigakure shinobi, a special seal has been branded on each and every Kirigakure I.D. The seal is invisible to the naked eye, and can only be seen by the use of a special light. Any attempt to enter using a false I.D. or identity theft is punishable by imprisonment, or even death. In matters of foreign affairs, any visitor from another village must present their I.D., registration number, and documentation from their village's leader that they have authorization to enter. Subsequently, their information is added it to the village’s Visitor Entrance Log.
[Warning: You MUST post here with your character, and get permission to enter into the village by an ANBU or a jonin stationed there before posting in the village. If you fail to do so, then you have given your consent to have your character attacked by any and all Kirigakure shinobi.] [/blockquote]
