The story thus far: As of late, there have been numerous terrorist acts up and down the coast of Hi no Kuni, leading across into Kaminari no Kuni. Word is is that all these incidents are being done by one group, Konoha has already assumed this "group" to be the Organization called Akatsuki. Though, there is a current investigation by Konoha Cell Three which has this new rising Organization is not after the weapons known as Jinchūriki, but things called "Shindō."
Prodigies that are so acclaimed that rumors of their existance resonate even outside their village's walls. During their mission, Team Three encountered Seiryū, a member of this organization called the "Shitennō." This organization, as thought, is made up of men estimated to be in the hundreds that were gathered by a mere four men who taught their ninja techniques to civilians who were willing to learn. Seiryū gladly revealed what was revealed to him by the "Shitennō." They sought out and brainwashed geniuses of high caliber, then turn around and group them together into small unstoppable task forces. They teach this children how to hone their abilities. It was Takeuchi who asked who the "Shitennō" were, but Seiryō said he couldn't release that information, even if he knew it.
After this encounter, Seiryū was reported in a battle just outside of Kūkigakure, seeking out the Golden Child where he and his student, one of the "Shitennō's" previous targets and a current agent who managed to defeat the Golden Child's squad, leaving the Golden Child with a message that the two that were assigned to him couldn't stop him, that Kūki was not doing anything to help him move toward his Buddhist goal of peace, but the "Shitennō" would bring peace to the world if the Golden Child contributed his help.
Another account of "Shitennō" agents at Kūki's Temple have been rumored, but nothing reported as of yet.
The "Shitennō" abducted a young ninja of Kumogakure, decimating his team with overwhelming numbers and destroying Kashoku Gai in the process. The three leaders fled with the child after Kumogakure Air Support arrived.
Rumors of the "Shitennō" founding a hidden village base has been spreading through the mainland. Other rumors speak of a base off the coast of the mainland, a ship so large that it can house every agent within the organization. Both rumors are unconfirmed. One thing is known, though; "Organization Shitennō" are making their moves.
Threads: Cell 3's Mission STATUS: Ended in this thread.
Move on Kūki: Part 1 STATUS: Continued in second thread.
Move on Kūki: Part 2 STATUS: Ended in this thread.
Burning Lanterns STATUS: Done.
The majority of the threads were discontinued and wrapped up in this thread with the exception of the Kashoku attack.
How to Participate: There's no asking to be part of this storyline, if you want to involve your character somehow. Maybe a relative is part of this organization, maybe your character is one of their targets, maybe you just happen across some of these men during one of their heinous terrorism and attempt to thwart them, I don't care. This is a collaborative project and board-wide. Meaning you can make a thread, NPC some of your own enemies and end it how you want.
All I ask is that please don't do it for your own character's benefit, or you'll lessen the value of the storyline as a whole. Remember, we're a site that's less fighting and more story driven, so you don't have to risk your character if you don't want. Grab a friend and just write to your heart's content. Depending on the contributors and how it sizes up and the events that factor in, the storyline will end with the "Shitennō" revealed. Look forward to some risky revelations [yes, the kind that could conflict with canon later, but might not.]
Notes: Shindō: (Lit.: God Child) In Japanese, one of the terms used for child prodigies is Shindō. [
Shitennō: (Lit.: Four Heavenly Kings) Numerous groups in Japanese folklore, Buddhist mythology and historically. The original Buddhist mythology is four gods who watch over the world's cardinal direction: Bishamonten, the God of War, sometimes called Bishamon, Tamonten and Bishamonten. Zōchoten, Jikokuten, and Kōmokuten. Other incarnations are said to have been named after them. Still the freest Naruto Forum RPG community, Team | R A S E N D E N
