Story
Childhood | Main Article: Shinobi File | Toku's childhood is covered through various recollections throughout Rasenden. Her birthplace is not clearly defined when she is first introduced. It is hinted numerously that Toku is quite possibly the missing child of the Varentain clan, though these claims have yet to be justified. She had been taken in with the Tensho family of Kumogakure and has since then called them her own. Back when she was a part of Squad 10, she had gone on her first mission, one that ended in a light note, even though she strayed far from the objective. It has been recorded that Toku was a participant in the last Chūnin exams, though was defeated in the final rounds by her opponent. |
Introductions are in order | Main Article: Pushing Pencils | After her retreat back into normal Genin life, Toku is given another chance with a letter addressed to her, telling of a new team forming. After time at a local convenience store, Toku proceeds to Training Grounds Thirteen where her cell is supposedly going to meet at. Upon her arrival, she is met with a young boy by the name of Kumani Mushou, a relatively new face to her. Affectionately naming the boy her "Burnt Chocobo", she is given a crash course in a lesson of arrogance, one that is quickly slowed by the timely arrival of her last teammate, Gosaikun Aoshite, a boy with hair that immediately entails Toku to dub him her "Chocobo". Shortly after, she is greeted with the squad's sensei, Urarua Kobi, or mister Moogle in Toku's terms. |
Clouds Gather | Main Article: Picking Strawberries | After meeting with her team of Cell Five, Toku decided that it was a good times as any to spend relaxation time at DiDi's. To her surprise, the store did not have her shipment of her favorite ice cream, Strawberry Passion. Filled with great sorrow, she left the store wailing, clumsily running into an elderly lady by the name of Karia. As Karia went to pick up her scattered groceries, she is helped by a young man with striking blue eyes. Named Ishin, the man took Karia's assurance and entered DiDi'd to meet with the owner Izabera. They started off with casual talk before moving to Toku. As they did so, Ishin merely smiled. Something was up. |
The Hero's Journey | Main Article: Concrete Heart | After not getting her favorite ice cream, Strawberry Passion, Toku made her way back to a friend's house. Her friend Yoko then immediately went to take embarrassing shots of her friend crying, before proceeding to slap some sense into her wailing. That was met with equal physical efforts and a small fight ensured. The fight subsided however, and Toku was confused as she couldn't find her keys anymore, the metal disappearing in the fight. Yoko sent Toku out back to DiDi's to find the keys and to get some cleaning in. Unnoticed by the two young girls however, a lone stranger had the keys in his possession and disappeared back into the crowds of Kumo. |
