OoC: This happens after the events of Picking Strawberries.
This thread is closed. Read only.
"C'mon Toku one more? Just for the kicker?"
"Ch-ch-ch-CHEESE!!"
SNAP! "Lesse, what have we go-oh my gosh!"
Her brunette headed friend couldn't have tried harder to contain her laughter inside of her, the tears already trying hard to come out into the open. She immediately went to saving the picture in her folder, before Toku seemingly exploded into more tears, threatening to soak the carpet of her friend Yoko's parents. It was a bit childish of Toku yes, but she just couldn't help it. After not getting her Strawberry Passion ice cream, she just couldn't be happy anymore.
"Hey! Easy on the waterworks!"
That made Toku conjure up more water, much to Yoko's dismay.
I-I-I, I juh. I juh. I juh cant hep ih. I-I-I--"
SMACK!! The sound of hands smacking skin hard on both cheeks filled the small playroom Yoko called hers. Things seemed to be silent for a few seconds, especially since the tears seemed to stop. We all know that doesn't last long.
Did you just betchslap me!?"
"Like yeah?"
"Why the heck did you do that!?"
"Cuz you were acting like a--"
Her words were cut off as the wild fury of Toku escaped onto the helpless little girl. From the outside, one could hear the shrill battle cries of two girls fighting, furniture being thrown every which way, some even flying out onto the grass lawn outside. It was actually pretty enjoyable from the outside, if one were to take the time to actually sit and watch two girls go at it over something like slapping. It was only a minute in before things seemed to quiet, the pounding sounds of battle over before it even began.
"Ha! You wanna use my pic. I got my own."
"Hehe. Cheeks hurt yet?"
Toku grabbed the pic and held it tightly close to her chest, her eyes thinning mischievously along with her wide grin. She had to go show this picture to her friends, anything to get Yoko to forget the plan of using pictures of Toku crying for her own advantage.
"Pickle you Kumquat. At least you stopped crying like a baby."
"Oh, I did huh? Thanks and. Whatever."

Awkward silence was chased away at the sound of bags rustling, pictures being thrown away or something similar. The end effect was the same, so it not matter the direction they took. It was a truce among friends, one that spoke of no blackmail or anything else that might be used with those pictures, something that could only come across by friends who were close with one another.
"So, did you ask why they didn't have any of that ice cream today?"
Toku rubbed her chin with one of her hands, as if the question was her chance at getting one million dollars or some effect like that. Why was she thinking so hard on it anyways? Well, to be honest. Toku never really paid that much attention to things such as this. They were either considered insignificant in the beginning and not remembered, or they were given less value as she got more thoughts to think on.
"Uh, no? At least, I think I didn't"
A meek smile was rivaled with a face palm of Yoko.
"You idiot. How did you know there wasn't any ice cream if you didn't ask?"
Yoko crossed her arms, with Toku retaliating with her own crossing of arms. They stared each other down with major egos, neither of them really wanted to back down from the other. A rivalry by some, this was some form of rivalry that was beyond the normal mechanics. They were friends, but still envied one another for very different reasons.
"I can like so tell if there wasn't any ice cream. Like you have no idea."
"Apparently."
"Oh em gee."
"What?"
"I can't find my keys."
"What?"
My keys, I can't find them. Um, they must be around here somewhere."
With wide eyes, Toku started to rummage through the overturn furniture, searching every nook and cranny for the shiny metal. It was strange; one minute she had them in her pockets, and the next they were gone missing. Today was just too odd for her tastes. First no ice cream, and now her keys were AWOL. Really now, things like that don't happen on the same day and most certainly not right after each other.
As the young girls kept their search through Yoko's play room, a lone bystander stood outside of their house, watching carefully and without distraction even once. Muddy brown hair shielded his eyes from the stares of others, not that it really mattered in a place like this. In his hands, he jingled a set of keys that had a distinct pattern in them. He looked up at the house again before leaving the location.

"This is stupid, like totally stupid."
"Yeah it is a little weird."
"A little?"
Toku ran a hand through her bangs, pushing them back over her head so her forehead revealed itself before being hidden away again by another set of bangs. This was very stressing, and stressing was never good on one's complexion. She really needed to find those keys.
"Well, are you sure you brought them with you? I mean, y'know. You are prone to forgetting stuff."
Yoko got up and moved towards the kitchen, a hasty Toku following close behind.
"I am not, I have you know I memorized the whole catalog of this month's issue."
Yoko seemed to pay her no mind as she ran a quick look through her fridge, pulling out a small carton of grape juice and some pizza rolls. The carton was pierced with a bendy straw as the rolls were placed into the microwave for a bit of nuking.
"Thing is, you seem to remember only things that you like, not important things."
Flailing her arms, Toku looked a bit desperate when those comments were said from Yoko.
"B-but summer casual is very important! Besides, I remember important things to. Um, I can't think at the moment. BUT that doesn't mean I can't!"
"Sure, whatever."
Yoko was about to drink her carton before it was snatched out of her hands with pale fingers, nails painted a sharp black. Toku stuck her tongue out at Yoko, revealing, or rather reinforcing the adolescent image of herself. She drank the grape nectar, as Yoko shrugged and turned around to pull out the rolls that were near finishing their reheating. Cautiously pulled out of the microwave, they too were snatched by Toku, a handful of the bread treats gobbled up hungrily by the raven-haired one. A stern stare meant that Yoko was severely angry at her loss of food snacks, something not taken seriously by Toku.
"You have a home, you have food. Why do you have to eat mine?"
"--Caus--"
"Whatever, let's just go find your keys okay?"
Mwo--kae--"
"This is going to be such a long day."
Yoko shook her head as she pushed Toku out of the back door of her house, pushing the cleaning of her room to a later time after they finished their search. Or was she? On second thought.
"Toku, you go on ahead. I gotta get this place clean before my parent's come back. And my parent's anger are waaaay scarier than what you can throw."
A slam of the door in Toku's face, and she was off to try and find her set of keys, juice carton in hand.
