Back Story: The tale of the Daimyō is not a pleasant one, but it is one that must be told. From the start his life has not been very easy. Being concieved during a drunken escapade between a samurai who had fallen from grace and a local farm girl his upbringing would be far from suitable. Because of the pregnancy, the samurai was forced by the girl's father to marry her -- something that he would despise for the rest of his life. As a sign for the hatred he felt for his child he named him Sabirutō, or "Rusty Knife." Essentially, labeling the child as useless.
Three years after his birth, Sabirutō's mother would be killed in one of Mizu no Kuni's many civil wars. Now left to care for the child on his own the samurai came to despise the boy even more. Opening up a small smithy the samurai treated him as if he were his slave. Forcing him to preform outrageous tasks for a child his age. This time would jade the boy and harden his heart, a trait his father would soon regret.
War would spark up yet again throughout the land, and Sabirutō's new home would once again be dragged into it. This time, the Daimyō's shinobi were raiding the town for supplies. Stumbling across the smithy a large group busted in and demanded the samurai to give them all his weaponry. Being the coward he was he graciously offered them his inventory, and was willing to throw in his son as an added bonus -- just as long as he could keep his life. Unfortunately for him Sabirutō was not pleased with his father's actions and killed him right there on the spot. Impressed by his ruthlessness the shinobi decided to bring him back to their village and train him.
The following years of Sabirutō's life were filled with constant warfare and bloodshed. Soon his body, much like his heart, would become hardened and cold. He rose through the ranks and soon became a very valuable member of Kirigakure's shinobi force. It wasn't until the late Daimyō began becoming overly paranoid did overthrowing him ever cross his mind.
Retiring from the world of the shinobi at the age of thirty-six, he took the few companions that he had made over the years with him. Tired of the constant civil wars that were ripping the country apart he bagan his plan to overthrow the Daimyō. Knowing that taking the throne by force would only inspire others to do so he began to make a name for himself in politics. Using his humble heritage and experience in war to gain the people's trust he assumed the title of Daimyō in no less than ten years.
Since coming to power he has managed to unify large parts of Mizu no Kuni and has brought stability within the government. Though not everyone agrees with his somewhat tyranical leadership style few can argue against the progress he has made for the country.
