This is an altered photo I was to work on in m Digital Drawing 2 class and I felt it came out good with combining landscapes. Its not something hugely difficult but I felt good about how it came out. PhotoEdit: I just realized it came out lighter then it did on Photobucket so keep that in mind.

It looks cool. I can tell where it was manipulated, though. Then again, I usually can tell on a good manipulation, too. The difference is I didn't have to try as hard. You may want to throw a photo filter over the whole thing, the stronger the filter, the more it'll have an overall feel, but if it's too strong, it'll just look like an overlay of whatever color filter you picked. Each stock runs too much, I'm not sure what you used to gradient each stock, but if you used an eraser, I recommend one with less soft edge, probably a smaller eraser. The lake is too sharp to mesh with the mountains which aren't the best quality [they seem slightly blurry]. Either blur the lake some or sharpen the mountains a bit. The clouds and sky are okay, but I'd erase a bit more on the left side of that layer.
I'm no genius when it comes to Photoshop, but it's just what I'd try. XD

Thanks for the input I did have a version we were to filter out but like I said transferring it to the net killed the color in it. Whenever I get back to my school [Tomorrow] I will post up the filtered version of it. Edit: Filtered version added.

If you like that kind of look, okay, but I'm'a tell you that filters aren't used for the reason that they mess with whatever skill you put in there-- at least, the filters you used, specifically the crosshatch or the hatching or whatever you used. You know, because of that majestic sky, it stands to reason that everything would be basking in the sun's glow-- but the water and mountain is totally unaffected. I'm assuming that the light would be bouncing everywhere, and there would be areas it wouldn't touch, but it would touch most.
I advise you to first focus on the basic idea and then the doing.
Just a suggestion. I've been messing around on and off with Photoshop so I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. :3

@_@ Suggestions are awesome but then you turn around and say you don't know what your talking about. Stop screwing with my head!!!! But yeah, it was a great suggestion but I would have to screw around with it for a bit to get that sun effect over everything. The filter wasn't to mask anything up, it was just required for us to do but I didn't care too much.

The filters are good, but maybe a suggestion should be using the smudge/blur/sharpen tool? Because the filters can be disorienting, the filter that's currently on the photo looks too strong. It looks odd to someone. Try erasing around the parts which you don't need.
